Why are women drawn to womens shoes like magnets?
The only person who understands what's behind buying womens shoes is another woman. Hey girl, see if you don't agree... Shoes serve one fundamental purpose. This purpose is to protect the feet from cold, heat and from the elements. Basically footwear was developed centuries ago to prevent feet from injury. This fundamental purpose is overshadowed when it comes to womens shoes. Forget about keep your feet safe. Any old shoe that you throw on will do this in a relatively good way. However womens shoes are much more than protection for the feet. They serve a greater purpose that can possibly only be truly understood by the female gender. This is not to suggest that men do not appreciate womens shoes. Many men are wild about a nice set of stilettos or that unbelievable pair of high-heeled boots. The attractiveness of womens shoes is a two-way street. Many ladies buy shoes that they know their husbands will like almost as much as they do, if this is possible. On the other hand, I do not want to suggest that men really understand what on earth is going on with their female counterparts when it comes to footwear. There is something about womens shoes that draws a lady to the store whether she needs them or not. In most cases, she really doesn’t. However, it feels like she does. I can attest that nothing really replaces the feeling of finding the perfect pair of pumps in just the right shade of burgundy that matches the scarf that’s been sitting in the bottom of your dresser drawer. This scarf was only purchased with the knowledge that there must be a pair of womens shoes that matched the accessory.

The scarf may wait in the dresser drawer for years and year, but it will be worth the wait. One fine day the designers of womens shoes will come through and match that scarf. The hunt takes awhile, but all great things are worth the wait and effort. This may not be understood by most men. Perhaps the best way to put it is that the appeal of womens shoes lies in the hunt. The footwear represents that final touch, that one detail that says, “I’ve got it together.” They represent clout, prestige and overall taste and style. Maybe that’s not it at all. In fact, I like to buy womens shoes because they are the one item in the whole store I know will fit. I find them to be loyal even if I pack on a few pounds. I’m always a size seven when it comes to womens shoes.
